We moved back to the Ocala area in 2010 and it was sad to see the demise of this wonderful attraction. Even so, Silver Springs has faced serious difficulties in the past, with increased pollution and nearby modern development harming the river habitat, decreasing the fish population, and dramatically decreasing the waterflow from the aquifer as the demand from surrounding populations has increased.
